  • 3/22/16, a beautiful spring day, not hot, a bit cool on the way down the hill into sycamore canyon. Wildflowers are in bloom but not yet in abundance: pitcher sage (hummingbird sage) on Wood Canyon Trail, sweetpea, phacelia, sunflowers, lupine, California poppies (but not in abundance yet like last spring). We stopped at the burnout ranch (intersection of wood cyn and ranch center) and saw the male Bullock's Oriole again! (Sat, 2/19 saw it the first time). A handful of mockingbirds, starlings, yellow-rumped warblers.
  • 3/22 Sycamore, a sharp shinned hawk and a RT.
  • 3/22, Sycamore, here you can see how much smaller the Sharp Shinned Hawk is to the RT. Clearly not a Cooper's Hawk
  • 2/14/16 An Oriole visiting the yard!
