Wind River August 2009

August, 2009. A guided llama backpack trip into the Popo Agie (po-PO-zha) (Crow Indian orig., meaning "beginning of waters") Wilderness in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, elevation 8,000 to 11,000 feet, subalpine and alpine terrain, countless lakes, streams, boulder fields, sheer granite walls, talus slopes, thunderstorms, hail storms, and no bugs! Best thing about the trip: Llamas!! Worst thing about the trip: too short. Entry point near Lander, Wyoming. Topo maps: Sweetwater Needles, Cony Mountain
