Point Reyes August 7-20, 2008

Twelve days at Juniper House, Bolinas, and hiking along the Bolinas Ridge, Point Reyes National Seashore, Mt. Tamalpais State Park, and biking along Highway 1 and in Point Reyes National Seashore. Temperatures in August were mostly in the 60s, trails in thick canopies of redwoods were decadently cool, sometimes misty, always a treat. Marin County has over 350 miles of hiking trails, a remarkable number of organic farmers, an extraordinary commitment to the preservation of the land. And less than one hour from the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco metropolis. Once you "land" in Point Reyes, you've arrived on a different planet.

Historic Morgan Horse Ranch, Bear Valley, Point Reyes National Seashore
I usually don't take pictures of government structures, but this Point Reyes National Seashore Bear Valley visitor center is designed to look like a barn and really blends in well with Morgan Horse Ranch.
